The Jóias do Tejo house is situated in “Bairro das Barrocas”, otherwise known as the old quarter of Alcochete with narrow cobbled streets, alleys and small houses. This quaint neighbourhood, with its brightly colored terraces, is located by the Targus River and is predominantly inhabited by people linked to the traditional activities of salt extraction, river transport and fishing. Alcochete also forms part of the Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve which is rich in fauna and flora.
The house is located in the center of Alcochete. As it is a few minutes from Lisbon, it is an ideal place to rest on weekends or on vacation.
Come and discover the cultural traditions, the festivals and enjoy the local gastronomy. You will certainly enjoy the rich history of the region which is dotted with numerous historical monuments.
